The Childcare First Aid Training Course is a certification for individuals who work with children. It’s also for all staff who work within an education and care setting who may be required to respond to an emergency if required. This also includes asthma and anaphylaxis (allergic reaction) emergencies.
Any emergency is a high pressure situation, however, when children are involved it can be even more stressful. By completing this course you will gain the skills and knowledge to confidently administer first aid to infants, children and adults.
ATI’s Childcare First Aid course is for anyone with children of their own, children in their life or those who work with or around children. This certification is a legislative requirement for those who work in a child care or educational setting.
You can refer to the industry governing body for any further questions you may have. The relevant organisations are the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and/or relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority.

Physical requirements of this course
It is a requirement of this unit that students are to perform a minimum of 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin placed on the floor. This is a mandatory requirement as stated in the Training Package and there are no exceptions that can be made.
If for any reason students are unable to perform these physical requirements, students cannot be deemed competent or issued with a Statement of Attainment and will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.

On successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for:

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (valid for 12 months)

HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support (valid for 3 years)

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (valid for 3 years)

HLTAID012 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting (valid for 3 years)
